The SFM holds a special place in Swiss social science research, due to its focus on bridging the gap between research on migration and demographic analyses on the one hand, and public authorities and public or private users on the other. The adopted approach to research is open to a wide range of different partnerships, both at the national and international level. The SFM places great importance on the application of research, as well as on the dissemination of know-how to politicians and professionals.
